Siendo madre, me doy cuenta de que hay situaciones que suelen dar un golpe en mi vida. Soy sensible a realidades o situaciones históricas de muchas personas que probablemente no he tenido que experimentar de forma directa, pero que desafortunadamente reflejan la indiferencia o la ignorancia que transmiten muchos seres humanos. Algunas de esas expresiones de odio como la esclavitud, el racismo, la represión religiosa, el machismo y crímenes contra la comunidad LGBTQ+.
Por medio de este texto, quiero declararme aficionada de las películas basadas en hechos reales -de ahí el título del escrito-, y por dicha razón, me gustaría compartir algunos filmes que basan sus historias en los temas mencionados en el párrafo anterior, y de las cuales he podido extraer algunas enseñanzas:

Talentos Ocultos
Temática: Machismo y racismo
Este es un filme basado en la historia de un grupo de mujeres afroamericanas en la NASA y la importancia de los aportes realizados por ellas en la primera misión a la luna. La frase más conmovedora desde mi punto de vista fue la siguiente: “Aquí en la NASA orinamos del mismo color”. Dicha frase es muy significativa ya que el color de la piel o el género no interfieren con la inteligencia.

Palmer:
Temática: Comunidad LGBTQ+
Relata como un niño transgénero debe sufrir agresiones por parte de otros niños al sentirse diferente y único. En esta película pude entender que la educación de los niños es forjada en casa, enseñar a nuestros hijos el respeto y la empatía son base fundamental para sobrevivir en la realidad.
Being a mother, I realize that some situations often take a hit in my life. I am sensitive to realities or historical situations of many people that I probably have not had to experience directly, but which unfortunately reflect the indifference or ignorance that many human beings transmit. Some of those expressions of hate like slavery, racism, religious repression, machismo and crimes against the LGBTQ+ community.
Through this text, I want to declare myself a fan of films based on true events -hence the title of the writing-, and for this reason, I would like to share some films that base their stories on the themes mentioned in the previous paragraph, and from which I have been able to extract some lessons:

Hidden Figures
Theme: Machismo and racism
This is a film based on the story of a group of African-American women at NASA and the importance of the contributions made by them in the first mission to the moon. The most moving phrase from my point of view was the following: "Here at NASA we pee the same color." This phrase is very significant since skin color or gender do not interfere with intelligence.

Palmer:
Theme: LGBTQ+ Community
It tells how a transgender child must suffer aggression from other children because he feels different and unique. In this film I was able to understand that the education of children is forged at home, teaching our children respect and empathy are fundamental bases to survive in reality.

Las Nadadoras:
Temática: Migraciones como efecto de la Guerra de Damasco
Este es un drama basado en la historia de dos hermanas sirias, quienes por miedo a la guerra y con el único objetivo de conservar sus vidas, se embarcan en una misión en calidad de refugiadas para encontrar un lugar seguro fuera de su país de origen.

Adú:
Temática: Conflictos derivado de las culturas de Medio Oriente
Habla de la vida de dos niños huérfanos quienes presencian la muerte de un elefante por parte de cazadores furtivos, situación que pone en riesgo sus vidas. Esta película muestra la realidad de la infancia ignorada en un mundo lleno de riquezas.

First They Killed My Father:
Temática: Conflictos derivado de las guerras de medio oriente
Esta película habla de las vivencias experimentadas por la activista camboyana Loung Ung, quien tuvo que vivir su niñez bajo la brutalidad del régimen de los Jemeres Rojos.
Podría escribir muchas más, pero en este momento son las que recuerdo con gran importancia. Por eso invito a los lectores de este simple escrito a que vean películas con gran sentido de pertenencia a la humanidad, pues siento que el arte del cine o de las producciones cinematográficas nos dejan una gran enseñanza para sobrevivir en el caos y el agradecimiento por que claramente es una ventana a la realidad de un mundo que desconocemos.

Theme: Migrations as an effect of the Damascus War
This is a drama based on the story of two Syrian sisters, who out of fear of war and with the sole objective of preserving their lives, embark on a mission as refugees to find a safe place outside their country of origin.

Adu:
Theme: Conflicts derived from the cultures of the Middle East
It talks about the life of two orphaned children who witness the death of an elephant by poachers, a situation that puts their lives at risk. This film shows the reality of childhood ignored in a world full of riches.

Theme: Conflicts derived from the wars in the Middle East
This film talks about the experiences experienced by the Cambodian activist Loung Ung, who had to live her childhood under the brutality of the Khmer Rouge regime.
She could write many more, but at this moment they are the ones that I remember with great importance. That is why I invite the readers of this simple writing to watch films with a great sense of belonging to humanity, because I feel that the art of cinema or film productions leave us a great lesson to survive in chaos and gratitude for clearly it is a window to the reality of a world that we do not know.
